Biel-based cloud pioneer and managed services provider netrics is partnering with Tineo and nexellent to form a new, powerful cloud and ICT service provider in Switzerland. netrics brings to the joint portfolio specialist expertise in digitalisation using the public cloud as well as modern workplace services. Tineo and nexellent are incorporating their own infrastructures and had already bundled competencies in the areas of data centre, connectivity and private cloud services in their partnership announced last November.
Tineo, based in Münchenstein, and nexellent, based in Zurich-Glattbrugg, entered into a partnership last November, with the strategy of driving organic and inorganic growth, broad geographical coverage and the completion of the product range.
The now completed partnership of the three companies results in a Swiss full-service supplier, which, with a total of around 100 employees, can offer enterprise and demanding SME customers the entire range of managed ICT services from one source. These range from modern workplace services through the cloud in all its manifestations all the way to data centre and connectivity services.
The new entity will extend its footprint from Northeastern Switzerland and Zurich/Eastern Switzerland to a third location, creating proximity to customers throughout the Swiss “Mittelland” region.
netrics broadens the service portfolio with its expertise in consulting services and implementation with a focus on digitalisation using the public cloud, whilst Tineo and nexellent bring with them their own infrastructures and had already bundled competencies in the areas of private cloud services, data centre and connectivity in their partnership. Furthermore, netrics has considerable expertise in cloud management and, in particular, is contributing its trend-setting modern workplace services.
The growth potential of the new group is based on a strong foundation: the combination of proprietary, high-performance cloud, network and data centre infrastructures with offerings from the public cloud, a complete consulting and service offer with high vertical integration, a complementary customer base and a nationwide geographic presence.
The current owners and the management of netrics will remain actively involved in the new group.
Michael Siber, Chief Business Development Officer at Tineo/nexellent, explains: “We are being joined by a strong team with a lot of experience and know-how, with whom we can further drive our cloud business and extend our offer with modern workplace and managed public cloud services. The increase in expertise as well as a third new location will allow us to expand our customer base beyond the regions of Zurich and Basel to include the “Mittelland” region.”
Pascal Schmid, CEO, netrics, comments: “We are looking forward to becoming an even stronger force in the Swiss ICT market with Tineo and nexellent on our side, and can’t wait to ‘shake up the market’ with them. Three strong partners have come together who are each leaders in their respective market segment. We are very confident that we will be able to grow further in a dynamic market environment thanks to the integration of our expertise, our portfolios and our values and that we will be able to continue to provide our customers with the customary close support.”
Dr. Gregor Hengst, Principal at Waterland Private Equity, adds: “Over the last three months, we have seen an acceleration in digital transformation as a result of the corona pandemic which otherwise could well have taken two years. The merger of the three companies offers considerable potential and the group is successfully offering a broad range of varying cloud infrastructures as well as modern workplace solutions . This makes us confident that we will not only see accelerated sales cycles in the short-term, but also sustainable and long-term growth.”
