Athera is Germany’s leading therapeutic service provider with more than 120 therapy centres and around 500 employees. In addition to its core competence of physiotherapy, the group’s service portfolio includes occupational therapy, speech therapy, osteopathy and medical fitness. Every year Athera provides over 1.5 million treatments in its various service segments.

Athera was established in 1992 as Reeder Unternehmensgruppe and today has over 25 years of experience in the therapy and healthcare market.

Waterland acquired a holding in Athera in January 2019. The group’s objective is to achieve further growth through the acquisition and opening of additional therapy centres. A nationwide network offering optimum therapeutic facilities for patients will be established through the continuous extension of the range of therapies provided and the number of therapy centres.
With Waterland’s support Athera has already been able to integrate nine further therapy centres into the group.
