Partner / Chief Financial Officer / Risk Officer

Bart Elema is Partner, Chief Financial Officer and Risk Officer. Bart manages the Central Services team – supporting the entire Waterland group – out of Bussum, the Netherlands and has been with the firm since 2003. Bart is a member of the Remuneration Committee, the Valuation Committee, the Audit Committee and the ESG Committee. Before joining Waterland, Bart spent 8 years at ATC Corporate Services (now Intertrust Group) in various roles, most recently as proxy holder and member of the management team in Amsterdam. Prior to that, Bart worked at ABN AMRO Bank and Heineken. In 2015 he was elected as Board Member of the NVP (the Dutch industry organization of private equity and venture capital); from 2010-2014 he was a member of the Tax Committee of the NVP. Bart holds a Master’s degree in Fiscal Economics from the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the European University (the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium).
